WEAPONS
One of the prominent features of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) is its encompassment of a wide range of weapon systems. Whether you aspire to engage in combat reminiscent of a knight wielding a longsword with valor and dignity, or seek to skillfully strike your opponent with grace and precision using a rapier, or even desire to wield a single-edged blade with sweeping and forceful strikes, HEMA can cater to your specific needs. HEMA training can commence as long as one has access to historical manuscripts, practice weapons and protective gear, and a suitable training venue.
The weapons currently practiced within Einherjar HEMA Club, include (but are not limited to) the longsword, rapier, sidesword, single-edged blade, and polearm. Within each of these weapon categories, there exist various schools or styles, and even when considering the same type of weapon, the utilization of different martial arts systems can result in significant variations.
